Great design is easy to feel in person and easy to lose in a bad photo. I’m Matt, and for the past 20 years I’ve been photographing interiors for the people who make them — interior designers, architects, builders, and homeowners across Chicago and the North Shore.

The goal is always the same: images that show the layout, the light, and the material choices the way you intended them to be seen — not just a bright, wide-angle version of the room.
How we work together
We start with a real conversation about the project — what story you want the space to tell, and where the images are headed (portfolio, press, a client presentation, an awards submission). Before the shoot, I walk the space to understand the light and plan the best time of day to shoot it.
On location, my camera is tethered to an iPad, so we review images together as we go — if a styling detail needs adjusting or a composition isn’t quite right, we catch it in the moment instead of in the edit. Every image is then carefully retouched and color-corrected before delivery.

I currently serve as Finance Director for the Illinois chapter of ASID (American Society of Interior Designers) and volunteer with Designs 4 Dignity, so I’m not just photographing the design community — I’m part of it. My work has also appeared in the Wall Street Journal, HGTV, Chicago Tribune, Chicago Magazine, and Modern Luxury.
